(1) The manifestations of inductor damage include short circuits, open circuits, etc.

(2) Use a multimeter to determine the quality of the inductor.

Method of using a pointer multimeter to detect an inductor: First, set the multimeter to the "R" position in the Ohm range × 1 "gear, with two probes connected to the two pins of the inductor, a fixed resistance value can be measured under normal circumstances. If the needle does not move, it indicates an internal open circuit in the inductor. If the needle indicates a trend towards 0 Ω, it indicates a short circuit inside the inductor; Next, place the multimeter in "R × 10K "gear, detect the insulation condition of the inductor, measure the resistance between the coil lead and the iron core or metal shield, all of which should be infinite, otherwise the insulation of the inductor is poor; Finally, check the structure of the inductor. The coil winding of a good inductor should not be loose or deformed, and the lead out end should be firmly fixed. The magnetic core can rotate flexibly without loosening, otherwise the inductor may be damaged.

The method for detecting inductors with a digital multimeter: Turn the range switch of the digital multimeter to the appropriate inductance position; Then connect the two pins of the inductor with two probes to display the inductance of the inductor on the display screen. If the displayed inductance is similar to the nominal inductance, it indicates that the inductor is normal; If the displayed inductance differs significantly from the nominal value, it indicates that there is a problem with the inductor.

(3) Generally, damaged inductors should be replaced with inductors with the same nominal inductance and current.
