Fe-Si-Al alloy powder cores are a kind of soft magnetic powder cores with nominal composition of 85% iron, 9% silicon and 6% aluminum. As Fe-Si-Al cores were firstly developed by Japanese in Sendust in the 1930s, so they are well known as Sendust cores. They are also known as Kool Mμ Cores (Magnetics).

Fe-Si-Al alloy powder cores are a kind of soft magnetic powder cores with nominal composition of 85% iron, 9% silicon and 6% aluminum. As Fe-Si-Al cores were firstly developed by Japanese in Sendust in the 1930s, so they are well known as Sendust cores. They are also known as Kool Mμ Cores (Magnetics).
Near-zero magnetostriction makes Sendust cores ideal for eliminating audible noise in filter inductors.
Iron powder cores are produced mainly as a toroidal cores, but there are also available in E, U shape and cylindrical cores.
Sendust powder cores Fe-Si-Al generate slightly higher power loss than the MPP and High Flux, but much lower than iron powder cores. Probably the fact that they belong to a group cheapest magnetic materials (produced from alloys of iron) has a significant impact on the extensive use of Sendust core in production output chokes, PFC chokes and pulse transformers.
Mostly alloy powder cores are produced as toroidal cores. But it should be noted that the alloy powder cores are also available in the form of large block shapes and which can be freely configured and build high-power inductive components.

Super Sendust Core, also known as second-generation Fe-Si-Al Core, is a nearly spherical Fe-Si-AI metal powder core made by nitrogen atomization technology. The traditional Fe-Si-AI powder is prepared by mechanical crushing, and the powder morphology is irregular triangular powder. The spherical Fe-Si-AI powder has higher DC superposition characteristics and lower power loss than the metal magnetic powder core produced by the traditional Fe-Si-AI powder. This product is especially suitable for high-current workplaces, such as: server power, electric vehicles, household appliances, solar photovoltaic ,UPS,Industrial power supply, variable frequency air conditioning, automobile charging pile, output inductance, PFC inductance, reactor inductance.
