The important role of current transformer in power system is that when it has AC current input in the primary stage, the secondary stage outputs current proportionally. Generally, they are used for safe and fast measurement and relay protection in high-voltage, high-current power plants and substations. The current transformer enables the measurement and control circuit to be safely separated from the high voltage circuit being measured.
