With the iron-based nanocrystalline material used, the common mod chock core has high-impedance characteristics in the MHz band and has the advantages of low noise, small size, and light weight compared with the iron core made by the conventional Mn-Zn ferrite.

 

Nanocrystalline cores are a choice solution for common mode choke (CMC) applications as they exhibit high permeability, low power loss, and high saturation. Common mode chokes made with nanocrystalline material are used in a wide range of applications including switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), solar inverters, frequency converters, EMC filters, EV chargers, and multiple automotive and welding applications. When compared to ferrite cores, nanocrystalline cores provide a wider operational temperature range and significantly higher impedance at high frequencies.

 

Due to the high permeability of nanocrystalline cores, common mode chokes, current transformers, and magnetic amplifiers (magamps) can be smaller in size and handle higher current. Saturation induction of 1.25T and a wide temperature range mean that CMCs made with nanocrystalline cores are less vulnerable to current imbalance and loss of performance at high temperature. The material's low AC losses result in excellent efficiency, and the option of durable cases - available in polyester (<130°C) and rynite polyester (<155°C) - makes cores suitable for winding with thick wire.

Switching power supply, UPS, frequency converter, EMC filter, inverter welding machine, new energy (solar energy and wind energy) inverter.

 

Nanocrystalline common mode choke cores are applied to 500KW & 1 MW centralized PV inverters High-permeability CMC Cores are applied to EMC filters near to AC output of high-power PV inverters. The better EMI suppression effect can be reached by less quantity of CMC cores due to high induction performance. Low- permeability CMC cores are applied to EMC filters near to DC output of high-power PV inverters. Low-permeability CMC cores have excellent inductance performance depend on frequency and effective anti-DC bias performance to avoid the damage from saturated inductance.

 

Nanocrystalline common mode choke is more and more applied to on-board charger of the battery electric vehicle and Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Even under temperature as high as 180°C , Nanocrystalline cores can work safely over long term; restricted by the temperature limit of around 100°C, ferrite cores can' t meet the requirement.

 

GIS is reliable equipment for power transmission The system voltage has been up to 1.2KV during past years. The switch operation of GIS may lead to danger VFTO. The reactors with nanocrystall1ne cores can prevent the damage from high frequency voltage (-15 MHz). Other materials cannot solve this problem such as ferrite.
